A very young Nietzsche walked slowly through
a downpour as all the other children scattering ran. 
He later told his flustered mother that his school’s rule
was to never run but walk home calmly.  This capacity
for serious adherence to rules led him to insights into
the contradictions in all systems of rules and
the hypocrisy of their adherents.  It also made him
a discomfort to those who defend these systems
and never really live them.
